Goats and saltwater are its most representative elements and, as it couldn&#8217;t be otherwise, those which make Fuerteventura excel in the gourmet world.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\"><strong>\u201cMajorero\u201dGoat Cheese <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1181\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1181\" style=\"width: 512px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1181\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.fuertecharter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/rtvc.es_.jpg\" alt=\"Excursiones Fuertecharter | 3 productos gourmet de Fuerteventura\" width=\"512\" height=\"342\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.fuertecharter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/rtvc.es_.jpg 512w, https:\/\/blog.fuertecharter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/rtvc.es_-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1181\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00a9rtvc.es<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The dense, fat and aromatic milk got from the healthy and happy \u201cmajorera\u201d goats is the basis for the tasty and varied \u201cMajorero\u201d goat cheese, a fatty cheese which has an intense aroma, with different tastes for the palate depending on ripening and on what ingredients it has been cured in (oil, gofio, paprika &#8230;).<br \/>\nOne of the secrets of the quality of this product is its naturalness, since most of the goats bred on the island are free of impurities, drugs and other harmful substances.<br \/>\nThe \u201cMajorero\u201d Goat Cheese has had denomination of origin since February 16<sup>th<\/sup> , 1996, and it has won countless awards since; the last ones, three gold medals, in mid-April 2015, in \u201cEl Sal\u00f3n del Gourmet\u201d in Madrid, which has chosen three \u201cmajorero\u201d cheeses among the best in Spain: The brand Tofio (semi-cured with paprika) Selectum ( mixed cow-goat milk) and Maxorata (cured with paprika).<\/p>\n<p>We recommend visiting the \u201cmajorero\u201d Museum of Cheese, in the Visitor Center in \u201cEl Molino de Antigua\u201d, which you can visit Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 18pm.
